I run a home-based business called J.M. Publishing. I created, and now produce and market The Love Letters Collection of Journals.

I am a single mother of two ( 2 & 3 ) and about 1 1/2 years ago decided that I wanted to write letters to my kids. Letters to share the day, about them, about my thoughts, decisions I've made etc... So I started writing letters occasionally and then realized that what I was doing writing letters on paper and putting them in a drawer was insufficient.

I never had the type of journal I wanted so I got a blank artist's journal and decorated it making it beautiful and starting writing my letters there.

Well a friend saw it, and she wanted one. Soon another friend wanted one and then I realized that I had a product.

The traditional baby memory books were good for creating first year milestones, but I didn't like the sentence prompts, the limited space, etc. I wanted something that could be very personal, would cover forever and would allow for great intimacy. I created The Love Letters Collection of Journals.

At first I went to a couple of big companies and tried to sell them the idea. I was rejected, but believed in my idea. I found a partner and set out on my way to form my own business - manufacture and distribute the journals.

The line launches with four journals. Love Letters To My Child, Love Letters To My Children, Love Letters To My Grandchild, Love Letters To My Grandchildren. They are beautifully crafted hardboard journals, 128 acid-free pages, adorned with original artwork and inspiring quotes.

It is a beautiful and special place to write letters to your children and grandchildren. It is your special place to share everything with them, to create a legacy of love, to give your loved ones a piece of your soul to be theirs forever. They say it is the things we don't do that we regret, using these journals will allow parents and grandparents to have no regrets.

I manage the business from my home. I am currently hiring sales reps, as well as repping the line myself.
